Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress who was born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1996. She is an American actress who has appeared in Choices (2010) and The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004).
Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film-maker who was born into an extended familia. She has worked in both fields. She first made her debut in film at age nine in Sergio Citti's Sogni bisogni. In 1988 she was the lead of Cristina Comencini's Zoo and a member of Michele's The Church. Following that, she played Nanni Moritti's child as a child in Red Wood Pigeon. Her profession took off after she was cast as Nanni's little girl for the film Close Friends. The film received an enthusiastic review in the Cannes International Film Festival. In Trauma she appeared in her first film with her father, famed Italian film director Dario Argento her mother is one of Argento's favorite actresses, Daria Nicolodi, playing an overweight girl on the lookout of her parents' murderer. Asia's intense, absorbed performance style was used to great effect in the film Condannato a nozze. She also was a co-star in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, in which she played Arianna who was a physical challenged woman. It was a complex role and demanding, earning the David di Donatello for the best actor. In 1995 she worked together along with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte Compagna di viaggio in which she was awarded a David di Donatello. In 1994, Asia decided to try directing and turned out two short films in the episode of the movie De Generazione In 1996 she produced a documentary about her father, and in 1998, another film on the cult director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at The Rome Film Festival. Asia began directing her first feature film in 1999, Scarlet Diva. In the film, she was the main character and directed the script. The film was released in May 2000 in Italy as well as around the world. The film was awarded a special award at Brooklyn's Williamsburg film festival.
