The moment Jim and Sasha Allen were able to make it on The Voice Live Shows, they were able to make history since Sasha is the very first openly transgender singer in the NBC reality show that made it through to the Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. This Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the top 8 of the contest! Sasha has announced that he's transgender on their Blind Auditions package. He told Parade.com that it was a long process to make that decision. "That was a really hard choice to make as you're showing a personal and vulnerable aspect of yourself to millions and billions of individuals," said Sasha, who transitioned while he was in high school. In the last week of fan week, seeing the people's support and their reactions, and how that affected people showed it that it was well-worth the risk. The Voice wasn't even around at the time we performed this track. When we received it, we were thrilled. We knew the tune and had some ideas of how to set it up.
